Brief overview of the Project

The Grand Millennium Hotel is a five-star facility comprising a mix of letting rooms and serviced apartments in two high-rise towers located in the financial and tourist area of Tecom, Dubai

The works included the construction of a world class Pub (franchised as a Belgian Bar) as well as the multilevel Tabla Club. These had to be constructed with minimal disruption to the already operational hotel. Specon also did a design check of the HVAC system to ensure it meets with the international parameters for Pubs/ Bars. Specon scope included all HVAC, plumbing & drainage, electrical, BMS, ELV systems, kitchen fit-outs and fire-fighting/ fire protection works.

During Phase II of the works Specon currently deploy a semi-permanent team of Engineers and Tradesmen specializing in all building services disciplines to assist the Hotel Operator with continuing improvements and in the development of new facilities for the hotel.

The continuing success of the hotel attracts a large non-residential customer base to enjoy the various facilities which therefore require constant upgrades and extension. In recent months, new hospitality areas have been added or are planned and it has been necessary to substantially extend the ACV and chilled water systems, the domestic hot and cold water systems, central steam generating plant, and LPG storage.

The challenge always is to carry out the works without disruption to the hotel operation and to this end Specon work in close liaison with the Hotel Operator to ensure that all improvements are executed behind the scenes without disruption to the management team or inconvenience to their guests.
